Beacon House is an existing four-story brick, and concrete post and beam building located on the Temple University Episcopal Hospital campus. Occupied as dormitories, in the recent past, it will serve a similar purpose as Beacon House. Beacon House is a homeless shelter for those with substance abuse issues and provides amenities such as counseling services for those in need. The building, as a whole, has historical value, given the quality of design, the significance of use, and the positive presence on East Lehigh Avenue. The new program consists of 40 beds, administrative offices, community spaces, counseling suites, and bathing rooms.
